Impatiens: The Plant that Cures Irritation

Impatiens belong to the 500-800 classes in the family Balsamineaceae that can live in the shade or direct sun.
This is the most famous plant in the United States used for landscaping, framing shady beds and hanging baskets. They are beautiful plants that grow easily.

Since impatiens grow annually, they need soil, water and sun. The soft and ample stems of this plant wither rapidly when it gets too dry so be sure to water frequently.

This plant usually grows in the soil beneath the trees, which makes it require more water and nourishment.

Here's some basics about impatiens:

• The Height

Impatiens can range from from 8 inches to 2 feet, although when we think of them we typically picture the shorter ground covering plants.

• Size of the Flower

Most of the flowers grow 6 to 18 inches tall and 10 to 24 inches diagonally. The flowers of this plant are classified as single, partly doubled, or completely doubled that blossom and look like a small rose.

• Color of Impatiens Flower

Normally, the color of the impatiens flower is red, orange, pink, white, violet, and rose. This flower also has a two-color combination, the bud of the flower has a lighter color while the frame of it has a darker shade.

When you decide to plant impatiens, be advised that the most important thing is to make sure they get enough water. Other plants can still live a bit longer without water but impatiens will wither and die. Continuous wetness is the secret to have the finest impatiens.

The following is a list of tips where for planting impatiens:

1. You can plant your impatiens in the east or north part of your garden, where the sun’s rays can reach it. When you decide to water, do not use large quantities of water.

2. Impatiens can also grow in the south or west shades. In this side, water is frequently needed to maintain the plant’s moisture.

3. You can also place the impatiens plant in pots or containers. Although nurturing impatiens in pots is a bit difficult, the best thing you can do is watch the plant closely for disease and fungus.

4. Impatiens can also grow under huge trees. Although this is a difficult way to grow impatiens because big trees will deprive this flower from needed sunlight. Put some soil at the foot at the stand of the tree then plant your impatiens.

5. You can also use the impatiens plant in adorning your garden's landscape. However, you have to consider the following before planting your impatiens in your landscape to make sure that it will grow the proper way.

• Avoid your impatiens from getting too much contact from the sun. This will only dry up your impatiens.

• As I have told you, the most important thing to this plant is water. So, do not let your impatiens dry out. Keep the soil moist, but not too wet especially in the heat of summer.

• If you are to plating for the landscape, use the white, pink and orange impatiens.

Learning the dos and don’ts of planting impatiens can make your garden a success. These flowers really don’t require much care - just be sure to keep them watered!
